Paducah Police Bomb Squad travels to Fort Knox for training

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – The Paducah Police Bomb Squad recently participated in a training.
The squad went to Fort Knox for the ATF Raven’s Challenge.
“Raven’s Challenge is one of the most beneficial training events our squad has been able to attend,” said Paducah Police Department Bomb Squad Commander Sgt. Matt Hopp. “Being teamed up with our military partners is a great experience because we both learn new approaches and tactics. This event enhances our skills as a squad and individually while testing our knowledge and ability.”
The bomb squad was teamed up with a US Air Force EOD team from Hurlburt Field.
Raven’s Challenge Interoperability Exercise is a Counter Improvised Explosive Device exercise that incorporates scenarios focused on interoperability capabilities between public safety bomb squads (PSBSs) and military explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) units in operational environments.
