Paducah police catch car break-in suspects

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — A local man and a teenager have been cited to court after being caught on a doorbell camera breaking into cars.

Caltaveion L. Smith, 18, of Park Avenue, was cited for theft by unlawful taking from a vehicle and unlawful transaction with a minor.

A 16-year-old juvenile male was cited for receiving stolen property, tampering with physical evidence and curfew violations.

Police received a Ring Public Safety notification showing the suspects entering a vehicle and stealing items. Officers quickly identified Smith and the juvenile from the video.

Both suspects were found leaving a wooded area and were stopped. The juvenile was released to a parent.
