Paducah police secure conviction in methamphetamine trafficking case

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — A local man faces up to 20 years in prison following his conviction for trafficking methamphetamine, the Paducah Police Department announced.
Terry Gilbert was found guilty last week after a jury deliberated for just 30 minutes. He is scheduled to be sentenced in November. The conviction stems from a 2024 drug investigation conducted by the Paducah Police Department, with prosecution handled by the McCracken County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
Police officials said the swift verdict demonstrates the community’s support for law enforcement and its stance against illegal drug activity.
“This case sends a clear message: Paducah will not tolerate drug trafficking,” the department said in a statement. “Those who choose to sell drugs in our community will face life-altering consequences.”
The department credited the ongoing partnership between Paducah Police and the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office for making the region “an uncomfortable place for drug dealers to reside.”
Residents with information about illegal activity are encouraged to contact West Kentucky Crime Stoppers by calling 270-443-TELL or submitting an anonymous tip at p3tips.com.
