McCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office arrested an 18-year-old Paducah man following an investigation into allegations involving inappropriate images and sexual activity, according to authorities.

The sheriff’s office said it was contacted in December 2025 by McCracken County Public Schools regarding allegations that an 18-year-old student had shown sexually explicit images to other students and may have been involved in a relationship with a middle school student.

School resource officers reported that the alleged incidents occurred off school property, though students reported the information to officers at school.

Detectives with the sheriff’s office opened an investigation following the report. On Feb. 5, 2026, authorities arrested Landon Player, 18, of Paducah, on an arrest warrant.

Player is charged with second-degree rape, second-degree sodomy, first-degree unlawful transaction with a minor, second-degree sexual abuse, and two counts of distribution of obscene matter to minors. He was lodged in the McCracken County Jail.

Sheriff Ryan Norman released the information on behalf of the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
