Paducah to celebrate improvements at Albert Jones Park

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — The City of Paducah will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, Sept. 29, to celebrate several improvements completed at Albert Jones Park.
The ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. at the park, located at 855 Joe Bryan Drive, northeast of Brooks Stadium.
Improvements include a new asphalt walking path that is 6 feet wide, 3 feet wider than the previous path. The path was also extended by about 200 feet, bringing its total length to one-quarter mile.
The city also added a new picnic shelter, park benches and lighting.
Albert Jones Park is located on the former site of Henry Clay Elementary School. The Paducah Board of Commissioners renamed the former Henry Clay Park in 2012 in honor of Albert Jones, who served as Paducah mayor from 1996 to 2000.
