Paducah woman arrested after resisting deputy, hiding contraband during traffic stop

PADUCAH, Ky., (KBSI) — A Paducah woman was arrested Sunday night after allegedly resisting a deputy and concealing contraband during a traffic stop, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Cope conducted a traffic stop around 8:52 p.m. on a 2007 Honda Civic for traffic violations. The driver was identified as Chelsea Figley, 27, of Paducah.

During the stop, Figley reportedly resisted arrest but was taken into custody after a brief struggle. Investigators later discovered she had hidden contraband on her person during the encounter, the sheriff’s office said.

Figley was transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail, where she faces multiple charges, including:

  • Failure to or improper signal
  • No registration receipt
  • Failure of owner to maintain required insurance
  • Possession of a controlled substance, first degree (methamphetamine), third or greater offense
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Assault, third degree (police officer)
  • Resisting arrest
  • Tampering with physical evidence
