Paducah woman facing identity theft, other charges after police say she got a job under different name

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – A Paducah woman faces identity theft and other charges after police say she used another woman’s identity to get a job and cash checks.
Antoinette Weston, 35, of Paducah, faces charges of first-degree criminal possession of forged instrument, theft of identity of another without consent, and theft by unlawful taking over $1,000.
She was arrested at her home in the 1700 block of Harrison Street Wednesday after after police say she used another woman’s identity to obtain employment at a local firm, then fraudulently cash checks from that firm.
On June 14, Paducah police say Weston presented a Kentucky operator’s license with her picture, but with another woman’s personal information, when she applied for a job at a local law firm. After her employment began, the employer noticed two checks had been cashed at a local bank fraudulently. The investigation
revealed Weston and a man cashed the two checks. Police say the woman whose identity was used to gain employment does not know Weston and has no ties to the Paducah area.
Weston was arrested Wednesday and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
The investigation continues. Police say more charges are possible.
