Paint and Sip: A Mother’s Day to remember at Alto Vineyards

ALTO PASS, Ill. (KBSI) – It’s a day to celebrate Mom, and even more so, a day to spend quality time with her.

That is exactly what dozens of women got the chance to do at Alto Vineyards on this Mother’s Day.

One of those women, Cobden resident Andilee Warner, spent the day with her mother Sandy Lanzi at Sunday’s Paint and Sip.

“I came out with another friend of mine and her mother, and so we just teamed up together just to make both of our mothers feel very special, and just to remember this day with laughter, and having a good time, and making a memory,” Warner said.

Warner, Lanzi and more than 40 others painted a bouquet of flowers and enjoyed a glass or two of wine.

Lanzi said she cherishes every moment she can spend with her daughter, especially on Mother’s Day.

“To spend a day with my daughter is awesome always,” she said. “I don’t get to spend a whole lot of time with her. She’s a very busy lady and has a busy life, and I’m blessed to have her living only a mile away from me, so I’m glad to spend the day with her.”

And Lanzi said this class is a unique and special way to spend Mother’s Day.

“I mean, going out to dinner is traditional on Mother’s Day, but this is special, doing something together,” she said.

And in the midst of our busy lives, Warner said it is always important to dedicate some time to Mom.

“You just need to cherish every single day like there’s no tomorrow, and, especially on Mother’s Day, when you can spend it with your mother, just cherish that moment,” she said.

And Marquez Scoggin of Project Human X, who led the class, leaves us with this: “Thank you, and a Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there.”
