MURRAY, Ky., (KBSI) — Pella Corporation is celebrating Manufacturing Month in October by highlighting its investments in workforce development, local schools and community organizations in Murray.
The window and door manufacturer is recognizing employees and their contributions as part of its 2026 Manufacturing Month theme, “Powered by People: Connected to What’s Next.”
At its Murray facility, Pella offers employees opportunities for career advancement through job shadowing, training programs, leadership development and hands-on learning.
The company said the programs are designed to help employees develop new skills, improve manufacturing processes and build long-term careers.
Pella also supports local students through annual donations to school athletic programs, band programs and Project Graduation. Each July, employees organize a back-to-school supply drive to help families in need.
The company’s community involvement extends beyond education.
In September, employees organized a pet food drive for a local animal shelter. Other annual initiatives include a cleaning supplies drive for Need Line in March and participation in the Angel Tree program in December.
Each October, employees host a chili cook-off to raise money for breast cancer research.
Pella employees also volunteer two to three times a year to pack meals for Kids Against Hunger.
The Murray facility provides annual donations to several local organizations, including fire and rescue services, the WATCH Center, homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters.
Additional support goes toward youth sports, the American Legion, Shop with a Cop, city parks programs, the Rotary Club Summer Concert Series and other community initiatives.
“Our Murray team members are the reason we can deliver on our promise to customers every day, and investing in this community is just as important to us as what happens on our plant floor,” said Greg Wyatt, plant manager at Pella’s Murray facility.
“Whether it’s supporting local schools, packing food for neighbors or hosting a chili cook-off for a cause, our team shows up for this community, and that’s the kind of community and the kind of workforce that will carry Murray’s manufacturing future forward,” Wyatt said.
Throughout October, Pella plans to host student job-shadowing opportunities, employee events and activities highlighting manufacturing careers.
Founded in 1925 and headquartered in Pella, Iowa, Pella Corporation manufactures windows and doors for residential and commercial buildings.
The company employs more than 10,000 people across 20 manufacturing locations and operates 220 showrooms throughout the United States and Canada.
