PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — The Perry County Election Authority announced changes to several polling locations ahead of the Aug. 4 primary election.
Beginning in August, the Highland Precinct and Biehle Precinct will be combined. Voters who previously voted at Highland Catholic Church Hall will now cast ballots at the St. Maurus Parish Center on Highway B in Biehle.
In addition, voters from the Belgique/Sereno area who previously voted at Our Lady of Victory Church will now vote at the Perryville Elks Lodge alongside voters in the P-5 Precinct.
County officials said the changes are intended to reduce costs by consolidating polling operations, lowering facility expenses and requiring fewer election judges.
Perry County Clerk and Election Authority Jared Kutz said the county continues looking for ways to improve efficiency while reducing the cost per voter during elections.
Officials said affected voters will receive postcards and updated voter registration cards reflecting their new polling locations.
The first election using the updated polling sites will be the Aug. 4, 2026, primary election.
County officials also reminded voters that absentee voting is available beginning six weeks before an election at the Perry County Courthouse in Perryville.
