Perry County K9 Officer receives protective vest donation

PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — The Perry County Sheriff’s Office says its K9 officer, Echo, will receive a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a donation from the nonprofit Vested Interest in K9s, Inc.

The vest was sponsored by the Nancy Allison Perkins Foundation of Homer Glen, Illinois, and will be embroidered with the phrase “In memory of Jerry Berard.”

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. has provided over 6,030 vests valued at $6.9 million to K9s in all 50 states since its inception in 2009.
