Perry County School District #32 central office returning to campus after tornado relocation

PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — The Perry County School District 32 Central Administrative Office will return to campus nearly a year after being displaced by the March 2025 tornado.

Beginning Monday, March 9, the Central Office will operate from the lower level of the Perryville Primary Center. Public access will be available at the rear of the building between the playgrounds. Office hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The Central Office houses the superintendent, assistant superintendent, chief academic officer, special services director, safety director and communications director, as well as the Board of Education, registrar and administrative staff.

District officials said the office relocated to a rented space last spring to allow Perryville High School to use the Old Senior High building after the high school was heavily damaged by the tornado. The Board of Education approved renovations to previously unfinished space at the Primary Center rather than continuing to lease off-campus offices.

The district said the space at the Primary Center will eventually be converted into classrooms once recovery work at Perryville High School is complete and the Central Office moves back to Old Senior High.
