Perry County School District #32 implements cell phone ban

PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — The Perry County School District 32 Board of Education has updated its policy on student use of personal communication devices, effective Aug. 20.

The policy, mandated by Missouri Senate Bill 68, prohibits students from displaying or using personal devices from the start of the instructional day to the end, including breaks between classes.

The ban applies to all personal communication devices, including cell phones, tablets, smartwatches, personal laptops and Bluetooth headphones/earbuds.

The policy applies to all public schools in Missouri, not just Perry County School District 32. Specific building procedures will be available at open houses.
