PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — Perry County School District 32 is encouraging voters to review information ahead of the April 7 election, which includes a ballot measure tied to the future of Perryville High School.

District officials said Proposition K.I.D.S., which stands for “Keep Improving District Schools,” would ask voters to approve a $0.41 tax increase to generate $52.5 million for a project to rebuild and reimagine the high school.

The district said the proposal comes after a tornado last spring caused significant damage to the campus and created uncertainty about the school’s future.

More information about the measure, including frequently asked questions, is available on the district’s website.

In addition to the proposition, voters will also choose candidates for the District 32 Board of Education and other local offices. Election Day is Tuesday, April 7.
