Perry County schools receive $6,500 for STEM programs, translation devices

PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — Perry County School District 32 has received two grants totaling $6,500 to support STEM education and communication with families.

A $5,000 grant from the Burns & McDonnell STEM Foundation will fund hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics programming at Perryville Primary Center and Perryville Elementary School.

The money will help purchase robotics, coding and engineering supplies.

A separate $1,500 grant from the Perry County Community Foundation will fund translation devices for every school building. The devices will help staff communicate directly with families who do not speak English.
