PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — Perry County School District 32 Superintendent Dr. Fara Jones said the district will continue working toward a long-term facility solution after voters rejected Proposition K.I.D.S. in the April 7 general election.

Jones thanked residents for participating in the election and said the district respects the outcome, while noting disappointment the measure did not pass.

Officials said the district continues to face challenges following damage to Perryville High School caused by a tornado in March 2025. Jones said ensuring student safety and maintaining educational quality remain top priorities.

The district has operated in temporary learning spaces over the past year and will begin evaluating next steps in the coming weeks, including gathering community input.

Newly elected school board members Dan Querry, Caleb Streiler, Nancy Voelker and Terry Wichern will meet for the first time next week to begin discussions on a path forward, Jones said.
