PERRYVILLE, Mo. (KBSI) – The Perry County Sheriff’s Office held an active shooter response/tactical entry training Tuesday at Perryville High School.
Sheriff’s deputies participated in room clearing techniques, dynamic entry, stealth search and active shooter scenarios.
Teresa Cox, the School Resource Officer, with the Perry County Sheriff’s Department says, “The focus of this training is to get us to work together cohesively. We have to be ready to protect our schools.”
“This training is vital for our deputies to develop and practice strategies in responding to an active shooter threat, whether that’s in a school, church, or other gathering place,” said Perry County Sheriff’s Jason Klaus.
The United States’ Deputy Sheriff’s Association and administration of Perry County School District #32 provided the training and school location for the training.
FOX23 News Multimedia Journalist Sasha Moore went to the training and will bring more details on FOX23 News at 9 on Tuesday.
