PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — Perry County voters approved Proposition K.I.D.S. on Tuesday, allowing Perry County School District 32 to move forward with plans for a new Perryville High School.
The measure increases the district’s operating tax levy by 22.15 cents per $100 of assessed property value. The district expects the increase to generate $35 million for the new facility.
“We take the trust you have placed in us very seriously, and we are committed to executing these plans with complete transparency, fiscal responsibility, and an unwavering focus on our kids,” Superintendent Fara Jones said in a statement.
District officials said the new high school will provide students with a modern facility designed to serve the community for years to come.
