Perry Park Center offers guided wild caving adventure

PERRYVILLE, Mo. (KBSI) — Residents will have the chance to explore one of Perry County’s natural caves during a new wild caving program offered by the Perry Park Center.

The two-part “Introduction to Wild Caving” program includes an educational session followed by a guided cave exploration led by experienced instructors.

The information session will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 16, at the Perry Park Center. Participants will then meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 18, near Pavilion No. 10 for the cave exploration.

The program costs $20 per participant, and attendance at both sessions is required.

Participants will learn about caving safety, local cave systems and the natural features of Perry County before taking part in the guided underground adventure.

Additional classes are scheduled for August and September.

Children ages 7 to 17 must be accompanied by a registered parent or guardian. Registration is available online or at the Perry Park Center.
