Perryville High School honors top graduates, sets commencement ceremony
PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — Perryville High School will hold its commencement ceremony on Friday, May 16, at 7 p.m. at the Perry Park Center, graduating 208 seniors.
Thirty students will receive academic honors, including nine Summa Cum Laude graduates: Kathryn Broeking, Josephine Lohmann, Savannah Young, Jake Cissell, Gwynivere Newbrough, Sofia Buerck, Aaron Weber, Maria Mattingly-Hernandez and Wyatt Schremp.
Broeking and Lohmann will graduate with perfect 4.0 cumulative GPAs.
Magna Cum Laude graduates include Xavier Pfaff, Russell Giesler, Kenzie Weinkein, Ayla Schuler, Elise Lauck, Marley Seabaugh, Lydia Barrows, Zachary Crowder, Ava Moll, Lydyah Boland and Ellie Gerler.
Cum Laude graduates are Reagan Pingel, Taylor Ebersohl, Dalton Fritsche, Alexis Howe, Alexandria Johnson, Ty Peeler, Alexis Erzfeld, Jamie Rogers and Aubrie Bell.
Ayla Schuler, a Magna Cum Laude graduate, will deliver the student commencement address.
Schuler, the daughter of Wendy Schuler and Marion Layton, plans to attend Southeast Missouri State University to major in vocal music education.
Don O’Keefe, a health teacher and head baseball coach, will deliver the commencement address.
O’Keefe, who has taught at Perryville High School since 1999, encouraged graduates to stay positive and pursue their goals.
The graduation ceremony is a ticketed event and not open to the public.
