PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — A Perryville man has been charged with multiple child sex crimes following an investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control.

Jason L. Robinson, 41, was arrested after investigators with the Special Victims Unit identified an internet protocol address linked to suspected child pornography during an online investigation in February, according to the highway patrol.

Authorities executed a search warrant March 30 at a Perryville residence, where Robinson was interviewed and evidence was seized.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Perry County Jail.

On March 31, the Perry County Prosecuting Attorney charged Robinson with first-degree possession of child pornography, first-degree promoting child pornography and failure to register as a sex offender. He is being held without bond.

The investigation involved assistance from the Perryville Police Department, Perry County Sheriff’s Office, Missouri Digital Forensic Center and the State Technical Assistance Team.

Officials remind the public that charges are accusations and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
