Perryville man killed in tractor accident
PERRYVILLE, Mo., (KBSI)- Oliver G. Bachmann, a 90-year-old Perryville man, tragically lost his life in a farm tractor accident on Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred on Perry County Road 343 near PCR 328 when Bachmann started the tractor while standing next to it, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper K. L. Goforth.
Unfortunately, the tractor was already in gear, and its neutral switch was malfunctioning.
As a result, the tractor rolled over Bachmann and continued moving east until it collided with an unoccupied 2008 Dodge Ram.
Perry County Coroner William Bohnert pronounced Bachmann deceased at the scene.
MSHP Cpl. C. A. Groves and Msgt. W. B. Sevier provided assistance.
The fatal accident happened at approximately 1:05 p.m.
