Person, 2 dogs survive house fire in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – A person and two dogs survived a house fire in Cape Girardeau Friday night.
Cape Girardeau firefighters responded to a fire at 1536 Big Bend Road on April 12 at 7:52 p.m.
Firefighters reported smoke and flames showing from the roof and several sides of the house.
They contained the fire in 30 minutes and then did an extensive overhaul.
It was upgraded to a working fire which brought additional mutual aid companies. Jackson Fire Rescue, and firefighters from Scott City, Gordonville, East County and Fruitland fire department provided mutual aid.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
No one was injured.
Firefighters were on scene for about two-a-half hours.
