Planned power outage in Fredericktown for repairs, Resource center opens to offer help

FREDERICKTOWN, Mo. (KBSI) – Ameren will turn off power to the city of Fredericktown around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26 to make repairs to the substation that was damaged by an EF-3 tornado Sunday night.

The substation feeds the City of Fredericktown. The outage should last around one hour.

Madison County has opened a resource center at the old Parker Banks building across from Thals Hardware. Enter through the old service department area. If you have been affected by the recent tornado and need assistance in any manner, come by to receive help connecting with the appropriate people.

Anyone wanting to volunteer to help is asked to come by to register and your information will be given to those affected. Donations of cleaning supplies, toilet paper, water, baby items, paper towels, etc. are being accepted. Hours of operation of this resource center is 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
