Cape Girardeau Public Library holds first annual plant swap

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – The Cape Girardeau Public Library held its first annual plant swap Saturday, April 23.

You could bring unwanted seeds, cutting, seedlings, or plants that were in good condition to trade or give away.

The first-year event is expected to be a recurring event. Augusta Welsh, library programmer, said that it’s a nice way to share your extras and maybe take home a plant.

“With like it being spring people doing gardening planting some people have extra seedlings an extra sprout that they’re trying to figure out what to do with,” said Welsh “and so I really wanted to give people options to have a place where they can exchange those and make sure they go somewhere go to a good home”.

The event lasted from 10 a.m. to noon.
