Police ask for help finding man accused in Paducah shooting

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – Paducah police officers are looking for a man wanted in connection to a weekend shooting.

James M. Fields, 28, of Hampton Street in Paducah faces charges of second-degree assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting late Saturday night. A man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen had left the scene and drove himself to Baptist Health Hospital to be treated.

Detectives determined that two shots were fired during an argument.

Fields was identified as the shooter. Police say he left the scene before officers arrived.

Fields is a convicted felon with previous convictions for robbery and drug trafficking.

Police obtained an arrest warrant.
