Police investigate arson after tent fire in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Carbondale police are investigating a suspected arson after a tent was intentionally set on fire Wednesday evening.

Officers with the Carbondale Police Department and the Carbondale Fire Department responded around 7:13 p.m. Jan. 15 to a report of a fire in the 600 block of East College Street. The fire was quickly extinguished, and no injuries were reported.

Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set by an unknown suspect, who fled the area on foot. The suspect was last seen running west on East College Street.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Carbondale Police Department. The investigation remains ongoing.
