Police investigate verbal altercation involving Carbondale city council members

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — A verbal altercation involving two city council members and members of the public was intervened by Carbondale police and city staff on Jan. 14, 2024, following an executive session meeting. No injuries were reported.

The Carbondale Police Department is conducting an active and ongoing investigation into the matter. Once complete, the findings will be forwarded to the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office for review.
