Police operation successfully arrests a Williamson County man

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KBSI) – The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office went undercover and successfully arrested Antoine Winston.

Following a months-long investigation, police revealed that Winston was traveling to Chicago and into Williamson County transporting large amounts of cocaine and crack cocaine. Deputies saw Winston offload a train in Carbondale and enter a vehicle that drove into Williamson County—during a traffic stop deputies discovered two ounces of cannabis which the driver received as payment for driving Winston. When deputies went to take Winston into custody he ran into a nearby woods where he was tased and taken into custody without further incident.

Winston was cited for the following:

  • Delivery of Controlled Substance – Cocaine
  • Possession of Controlled Substance – Cocaine
  • Delivery of Cannabis 30<100
  • Possession of Cannabis
  • Obstructing Justice
  • Resisting a Peace Officer
