Police respond to incident on South Friedline Drive; no threat to public

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — The Carbondale Police Department’s Special Response Team, assisted by members of the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS), executed a Jackson County search warrant Thursday morning as part of multiple ongoing weapons-related investigations.

Police served the warrant at about 8:50 a.m. at a residence in the 200 block of South Friedline Drive. No arrests were made, but officials said evidence was collected to further the investigation.

A Civic Alert was issued during the operation, advising the public to avoid the area and assuring residents there was no threat to public safety.

The investigation remains active.
