Captured: Escaped inmate out of Chaffee, Mo. back in custody

SCOTT COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – An escaped inmate who faces several felony charges is back in custody.

The Chaffee Police Department and the Scott County Sheriff’s Office had been looking for Austin Mason, 20, who escaped on Monday, September 13.

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office posted on its Facebook page that Mason had been located and was back in custody on Tuesday.

Mason was previously in custody for numerous felony charges. It was believed that Mason was picked up inside Chaffee and taken to an unknown location.
