Police seek missing Carbondale woman believed to be in danger

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Carbondale police are asking for help locating a missing 35-year-old woman who has a medical condition that may place her in danger.

Tamara J. Sawyer was last seen July 29. Police said she may have left a residence in the 100 block of North Springer Street before 8:40 a.m.

Sawyer’s vehicle was captured around 12:33 p.m. traveling north on Illinois Route 127 near Pinckneyville toward Nashville. She was later seen around 2 p.m. at a residence in the 200 block of South Ninth Street in Murphysboro.

Sawyer is 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs about 156 pounds. She has long brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a burgundy shirt and blue jeans.

She is believed to be driving a white 2012 Toyota Camry with Illinois license plate BC94714.

Anyone with information about Sawyer’s location should contact the Carbondale Police Department. The investigation remains ongoing.
