Police warns of recent scam in Carrier Mills, IL

CARRIER MILLS, IL (KBSI) – Carrier Mills Police Department warns residents of a recent scam.

It happens over the phone and a representative claims they work for Microsoft and need personal information. The scammers then hack into a victim’s computer and transfers funds out their bank account. Carrier Mills Police Department reminds people to not give out any personal information over the phone.
