Poplar Bluff City Council accepts city manager’s resignation

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo., (KBSI) — The Poplar Bluff City Council has accepted the resignation of Robert Knodell as city manager.

The council unanimously accepted Knodell’s letter of resignation during a closed session meeting Wednesday.

Knodell had been on leave since early December after acknowledging he was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to a city press release, Lori Phelps, who serves as city clerk, treasurer and assistant city manager, will continue to carry out the duties of the city manager until a permanent replacement is appointed.
