Portageville crews, community partners praised for restoring water service

PORTAGEVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — Portageville Fire & Rescue is thanking city crews and community partners for their efforts in restoring the city’s water system following weather-related issues during recent cold temperatures.
Officials said city crews worked extended hours to bring the water system back online.
Fire officials also expressed appreciation to the City of New Madrid, Mayor Nick White, Landon Roberts and the Nucor team for donating pallets of bottled water to support residents during the outage.
Portageville firefighters assisted with distributing the donated water. Additional thanks were extended to Food Rite, Baker Implement and others who provided support to city crews and the community.
Fire officials said the response highlighted the importance of community cooperation during emergencies and thanked all those who helped residents during the disruption.
