Portageville driver injured in early morning crash in New Madrid County

NEW MADRID COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) — A 24-year-old man from Portageville was injured in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in New Madrid County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 2:35 a.m. on March 22 along Missouri Route B, about six miles west of Portageville.

Troopers say the driver of a 2007 GMC Sierra failed to stop at a stop sign and ran off the road, striking a ditch.

The driver sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti for treatment.

The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was removed from the scene by a towing company.
