Possible phone scam reported involving Jackson Water Department

JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — The Jackson Water Department is warning residents about a possible phone scam after reports of missed calls from the number 573-243-5595.

City officials said they do not know the content of the calls and have not received confirmation that the calls were placed by the Water Department.

Residents are advised not to return calls from the number unless they can verify the call is legitimate.

Officials also reminded residents not to provide personal or financial information over the phone and to hang up on suspicious calls.
