PULASKI COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — A Pulaski County Sheriff’s deputy seized methamphetamine and a loaded handgun during an early-morning traffic stop on Nov. 16, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies requested assistance from the Waynesville Police Department’s K-9 unit after initiating the stop. During an open-air sniff, a Waynesville K-9 alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics, giving officers probable cause to search the vehicle, the sheriff’s office said.

The search led to the discovery of just under nine grams of methamphetamine and a loaded firearm.

Sheriff Stacy L. Ball thanked Waynesville police and their K-9 handlers for their assistance, noting the ongoing partnership between agencies enhances public safety in Pulaski County.
