PULASKI COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — A Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office K-9 team made multiple drug- and weapon-related discoveries during traffic stops over the weekend, authorities said.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, K-9 Alex and his handler assisted with two separate traffic stops in Crocker, where the dog alerted to the odor of illegal narcotics. Subsequent searches of the vehicles led to the seizure of several grams of fentanyl and methamphetamine.

During a separate traffic stop in Dixon, K-9 Alex again alerted to the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a handgun that was illegally possessed, officials said.

Sheriff Stacy L. Ball said the department’s K-9 teams remain active throughout the county and are routinely deployed to address criminal activity.

Authorities emphasized that investigations related to the traffic stops remain ongoing.
