PULASKI COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — A Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office K9 helped deputies uncover suspected fentanyl and heroin during a traffic stop on Sept. 26, authorities said.
Deputies said the vehicle was stopped after failing to maintain its lane and speed. K9 Alex conducted an open-air sniff and alerted to the odor of illegal substances, giving deputies probable cause to search the vehicle.
The search turned up 40 used syringes, including four that were loaded, along with five spoons with white residue, two doses of Narcan, a scale with residue, 16 burnt foil containers, 28 plastic baggies with powdery residue, three snort straws and two naloxone tablets.
After being read Miranda rights, the driver admitted the substances were fentanyl and heroin, according to the sheriff’s office.
