Rain brings increase in firework sales

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI)- With the dry heat, many places in the Southeast have had to issue burn bans and advisories, right before the fourth of July holiday.
Leaving firework stands a little on edge for those sky rocketing sales.
But luckily, a little rain came rolling in just in time.
“It’s something that we’ve been hoping for, and watching the forecast for, and I don’t think we’re the only people doing that, I think a large part of the public who, fireworks appeal to, I think they’ve been doing the same thing, says Chris Wheeler, with Patriot Fireworks.” ” I think a lot of people’s concerns will be eased and I think sales will probably increase here (Sunday) today and tomorrow (Monday).”
Firework sales started picking up after the couple of rain showers Cape Girardeau saw today, leaving everyone hopeful burn bans may be lifted.
