Randolph County deputies investigate threat toward Red Bud High School student
RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ill., (KBSI) — The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a threat made toward a Red Bud High School student, officials said Wednesday.
Deputies launched an investigation after receiving the report on Aug. 20. While authorities said there is no indication of immediate danger to the school, additional law enforcement was assigned to the area Thursday in coordination with Red Bud police.
Sheriff Jarrod Peters commended Superintendent Jonathan Tallman and Principal Alan Guehne for quickly reporting the incident, which allowed deputies to respond immediately.
“These types of incidents are very serious and not something to joke about,” Peters said in a statement.
“The safety of our students, staff and community is our top priority, and every threat is thoroughly investigated to ensure our schools remain safe environments for learning.”
