Recovery community center expands services in Kentucky

MAYFIELD, Ky. (KBSI) – A recovery community center is expanding its services in Kentucky.
Four Rivers Behavorial Health announced that they will be expanding their Turning Point services after they recently purchased a new building.
Currently they are located in Paducah, but they will soon be opening a location in Mayfield.
Turning Point Director Brandon Finch talks about the purpose of turning point services.
“Provide hope. As a person who’s in recovery, in long term recovery I know that the one thing that really helped me is hope. Having hope and having a chance at a better life by seeing other people succeed who have been where I am that provided me with a pathway” says Finch.
Turning point of Paducah was started in 2019 to provide the community with free substance abuse and mental health services. Finch says what sets them apart from other facilities is that they are a completely free community center not a treatment facility.
They offer services such as quick response, veteran support, a mobile van, substance abuse support, mental health services and more. Finch talks about the new location in Mayfeild.
“We’re going to be able to have that brick n mortar, again have that safe space. Its going to be staffed with peer support staff who have lived experience” says Finch “and we’ll be able to provide them with many different services like job support, connecting them to treatment, transportation to treatment.”
Turning Point offers services in the 9 western counties of Kentucky, but Finch explains why they chose Mayfeild for their next building project...
“Most everybody know Mayfeild was hit very hard by a tornado a few years ago and we also realize that substance abuse disorder hit this town way before that. By being a part of the growth were going to help this city become stronger and more resilient.”
The new building is expected to open by April and will be open to the public 7 days a week.
