Red Cross to host multi-agency resource center in Du Quoin for storm victims

DU QUOIN, Ill. — The American Red Cross of Illinois is partnering with local disaster assistance organizations to open a Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) for those affected by recent storms.

The MARC will be open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the American Legion Post 647, 900 South Jefferson Avenue.

Trained Red Cross caseworkers will help people create personal recovery plans and navigate assistance for disaster-caused needs. Representatives from various government, nonprofit and disaster relief organizations will also be available.

Individuals and families can meet with agencies for referrals or long-term recovery services. Identification and proof of residence are recommended.

The Red Cross provides shelter, food, comfort and other services to disaster victims.
