Remains of missing Alabama man found in Caldwell County, KY

CALDWELL COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – The remains of a missing man from Alabama were found in Caldwell County on Saturday.

An abandoned vehicle in a field adjacent to the Trusty Cemetery on Trusty Cemetery Road was reported to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department on Monday, April 15.

It was determined the 2001 white Dodge Durango was owned by Roy Foster Jackson, 83, of Florence, Alabama. He remains were found on April 20 some distance away from Trusty Cemetery, according to Caldwell County Sheriff’s deputies.

He was last seen near his home, in Alabama, on Sunday, April 7.

In cooperation with the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department, Jackson was listed as a missing person from that jurisdiction.

A preliminary search was conducted of the nearby area by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department personnel during the afternoon of Monday, April 15. Nothing was found relating to Jackson.

Caldwell County Emergency Management was made aware of Jackson being missing.

Caldwell County Emergency Management Director Joey McCaslin along with Area 1 Emergency Management Coordinator Daniel Newcomb organized an extensive search for the last three days in an effort to find Jackson.
