Ride to Blue Sky cycling event set for May 2 in Carterville

CARTERVILLE, Ill. (KBSI) — The annual Ride to Blue Sky cycling event will take place May 2, beginning at 9 a.m. from the campus of John A. Logan College in Carterville.
The event, formerly known as Ride to the Sky, offers three route options — 12 miles, 30 miles and 54 miles — with all courses running through the rolling terrain of Southern Illinois.
Registration costs $30 and closes at 9 a.m. on the day of the event. All participants must register online and check in before the ride to receive an armband, which must be worn throughout the event.
Organizers said all routes will include aid stations with food and drinks, and lunch will be provided following the ride.
Proceeds from the 2026 event will benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Illinois.
Riders are required to follow all traffic laws. Helmets are mandatory, and the use of headphones is prohibited.
