Road closures and construction updates announced in Cape Girardeau
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) – Several road closures and construction updates have been announced for the area:
Lexington Avenue westbound is closed between Carolina Lane and Perryville Road for several weeks, with substantial completion of the project anticipated in October 2025.
South Sprigg Street remains closed to through traffic, with residential blocks accessible only to local traffic.
Perryville Road from Lexington to Sherwood is expected to be complete by the end of the month.
Janet Street and Magnolia Street are expected to be complete and open by the end of the week.
Westfield Drive is under construction with intermittent lane closures.
Percy Drive will begin construction this week, with intermittent lane closures expected.
Themis Street is expected to start construction soon.
Bloomfield, Sherri, and Dorothy streets are complete.
Greenbrier Lane closures continue.
Spring Street and Sheridan Drive are being added to the annual program due to a recent water main break on Bloomfield Road.
Additionally, the following closures have been announced:
Lisa Street is closed between Randall and Delwin for box culvert replacements.
MODOT has closed Kingsway at Kingshighway through Aug. 19.
Hacker has an excavation permit in the 200-block of Morgan Oak with intermittent closures forthcoming.
Keller Avenue may potentially close for a half-day this week for a water repair.
