Road closures planned for Jackson Homecomers Celebration

JACKSON, Mo. (KBSI) — Motorists should expect road closures and increased traffic in Uptown Jackson as crews prepare for the annual Jackson Homecomers Celebration.

According to the Jackson Police Department, event setup will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, affecting South High Street and portions of Court Street.

Additional street closures will begin Monday afternoon and will impact portions of Main Street, Court Street, Barton Square, West Adams Street and West Jefferson Street.

Police said the intersections of South High Street with East Jefferson Street and West Adams Street will remain open each day until 5 p.m.

The Jackson Homecomers Celebration is scheduled for Tuesday, July 21, through Saturday, July 25.

Officials are urging drivers to use caution due to increased pedestrian traffic and congestion or consider alternate routes during the event.
