Road in Massac County reopens after semi crash near I-24

MASSAC COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – All lanes of Country Club Road in Massac County are back open after a semi crash Friday morning.

Illinois State Police troopers responded to Interstate 24 westbound at Country Club Road (milepost 34) in Massac County around 5:11 a.m. on July 26 for a report of a semi versus an unoccupied, parked car.

Troopers say the semi ran off of the roadway to the right and struck an unoccupied parked car and several feet of guardrail, proceeded off the roadway down an embankment, coming to rest on the north side of Country Club Road.

No injuries were reported.

Both lanes of Country Club Road were blocked for about one hour.

One lane was reopened while one remained closed for semi recovery and scene clean up.

As of 12:30 p.m. both lanes of Country Club Road were open.

No lanes of Interstate 24 were blocked.
