Robbie Guard announces his bid for Cape Girardeau Mayor
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) — Robbie Guard, a former Ward 4 councilman, announced his candidacy for mayor of Cape Girardeau on Tuesday.
Guard, a fifth-generation native of Cape Girardeau, said his priorities include increasing public safety, promoting economic development and job creation, and improving the city’s visibility in Jefferson City.
Guard has a background in banking and has served on various community boards, including the Gibson Center for Behavioral Health and the Cape Noon Lions Club.
He previously served on the Cape Girardeau City Council, representing Ward 4.
“I believe in the potential of Cape Girardeau and its people,” Guard said. “Together, we can create a city that honors its rich history and embraces innovation and progress for future generations.”
Guard’s campaign announcement was held at Riverfront Bridge Park.
